Jose Luis Orihuela

Associate Trial Attorney

Mr. Orihuela is a recent graduate from Northern Illinois University College of Law where he was the recipient of the Opportunity Academic Achievement Scholarship. While in law school, Mr. Orihuela was a leader of the student body. Specifically, Mr. Orihuela was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity, a Student Body Association Representative, and Vice President of the Latino Law Students Association (Mr. Orihuela is fluent in Spanish and English). Mr. Orihuela also participated in academic competitions during his tenure at law school, including making successful and winning arguments in the Prize Moot Court Competition and Mock Trial Competition. It was at this time, through his successes and recognition by his peers and professors, Mr. Orihuela knew he was destined to be a trial attorney.

Mr. Orihuela began his legal career as a law clerk for a small, prestigious litigation boutique firm in Rockford, Illinois. As a law clerk, Mr. Orihuela concentrated on employment discrimination, disability law, personal injury, sexual discrimination, and criminal defense work. Mr. Orihuela's work as a clerk also allowed for practice in state and federal courts. In addition, Mr. Orihuela practiced at the Ogle County State's Attorney's Office in Rockford, Illinois where he began to cultivate his skills as a trial attorney.

Being from Texas, and specifically Houston, Mr. Orihuela was anxious to return home. Based on his achievements in law school and early success in the law, Mr. Orihuela easily found work back home with Rene Gonzalez & Associates, PLLC. There, Mr. Orihuela successfully tried over fifteen cases to verdict—quickly becoming a "rising star" in his firm. However, Mr. Orihuela quickly realized that his heart and desire was in representing individuals who have been hurt. Following his heart, Mr. Orihuela joined The Pinkerton Law Firm, PLLC to put his talents and efforts to good use as a plaintiff's personal injury lawyer.
