Bus Accidents

Multi-passenger Travel
Traveling in a multi-passenger vehicle can be a pleasurable form of transportation. It is often more efficient to share travel-related costs between several people. It can also be more cost-effective to take a large family across several states in a large van or small bus. One problem with this form of travel, however, is that one act of negligence can result in the devastating injuries to or loss of several people at once.

Buses and airplanes are the major multi-passenger forms of travel in operation today. Extensive litigation addressing negligence causing bus and plane accidents is on the rise.

Bus Tragedies
Bus travel is an important element of transportation today. Whether it is for school travel, general public travel, tour guides or other ground-travel, a bus is ideal for multi-passenger transportation. With so many people in-transit, any accidents that occur affect many others besides those on the bus. Waves of trauma wash over not only family and friends but the public at-large.

Regulations regarding the safety of this form of transportation have been addressed by many legislators, state and federal.1 As for school buses, the question of the age of the buses in use and lap restraints have prompted Texas to require new buses replace old ones and to make seatbelts a requirement when children are being transported by bus.2

If you or your loved one was injured in a bus accident, it is important for you to seek legal representation and redress so that you are able to reduce your current and potential financial losses.

Tragedy In-flight
An airline flight, usually safer than a drive in a car, can sometimes end tragically. Accident occurrence can range from on-ground to in-flight, and can result in serious injury or death. Negligence in airplane construction and maintenance, landing strip monitoring, flight control or pilot decision-making can cause  devastating effects worldwide.

The airline industry is prepared for these types of accidents, though, as well as the ensuing litigation. The Federal Aviation Administration and the airlines themselves establish security protocol in plane construction and maintenance, in-flight piloting and the flight space and landing areas for high levels of air traffic. When someone fails in their duties as dictated by this protocol, catastrophe through serious injury or death are likely to result.

These results are preventable and tragic. If you or a loved one is an airplane accident victim, your situation requires immediate legal representation so that justice may serve to compensate you properly as well as generate improved future laws governing airline safety.

The Law
The cause of action is usually one based in negligence, and the statute of limitations for suing someone in Texas for an accident is two years.

It is crucial to find a good lawyer who is experienced in managing this type of litigation and who understands airline safety regulations. Finding someone who knows how to handle large corporations, insurance companies and their lawyers, and what to address medically and legally will help to protect you from sure financial disaster.

Money Damages
Financial recovery can include personal property damage and present and future medical bills. Other potential areas of compensation, depending on the facts of the situation, are mental pain and suffering damages, lost past and future wages, permanent impairment/disfigurement, punitive damages, wrongful death damages and loss of enjoyment of life.

Having the right lawyer on your side can protect your interests during this difficult time.
